Chi Omega Fraternity

Executive Board

As the head of marketing for my sorority in 2015 and 2016, I implemented and managed our brand identity, chapter image, and philanthropic efforts, exploring my creative side from a leadership perspective. I acted as project manager across the areas of social media, apparel/merchandise design, parent & alumni relations, and two large-scale, annual philanthropic events, working closely with each team member to ensure organization and productivity within the department, while staying on track with our timelines and budget, and also paving the way with many “firsts”, such as the creation of our first Instagram and Tumblr. In these roles, I was in charge of posting regularly on our social media, photographing events, and keeping a consistent aesthetic on all platforms. In addition, I created two videos that were used for recruitment.

Prior to my role as Director of Marketing, I held the position of New Member Educator where I guided and educated 30 new members on Chi Omegas value, history, and traditions. In this position, I realized my ability to be a leader and worked closely with the other Executive Board members.

Philanthropic events

Each year, Chi Omega at Western Michigan University plans two philanthropy events to raise money for the Make -A-Wish Foundation. The first event, a golf outing, is called Wish Upon a Par. We invite family, friends, and alumnae to a scramble golf outing followed by a dinner that included a silent auction, raffle and presentations from our current wish family. The second event, called Bowling for Wishes, that is targeted towards college students and bringing the WMU community together. For these philanthropic events I photographed and created promotional media leading up to the events.

Website design

I rebuilt our website on a new platform to be more current, informational, and clear. The new website incorporates brand board elements such as the logo, colors, and fonts that I implemented throughout all of Chi Omega’s branding, and truly puts forth the personality of the sorority for parents, alumni, and potential new members to see.

Apparel Design

Though my role as Director of Marketing was primarily to manage the brand to an external audience, marketing initiatives within the chapter were crucial – especially when it came to meeting apparel order minimums. I created a clothing campaign order to offer to our chapter for Fall merchandise.

The apparel designs were a collaboration between myself and Geneologie.

Holiday Cards

During the Holiday season I designed a card that highlighted our Chapters achievements during the past year. Working with a budget, I planned and organized cards to be sent to organizations on campus, alumnae, families, and other Chi Omega chapters.
